This is also a great time to inspect your property for any damage that may have occurred over the past months. The Spring season is a great time to give your fence some much-needed attention. Proper maintenance is crucial to ensure the longevity and beauty of your fence.

Some important tips to keep your fence in top shape throughout the year include:

Inspections- The winter season may have brought about some rough weather, or perhaps damage is still lingering from summer storms. Take this time to inspect your fence for loose boards, broken pickets, or sagging sections and address these issues to prevent further damage.

Cleanings- Remove any debris that has accumulated around your fence to prevent it from damaging your fence. Depending on the type of fence you have, wet leaves and sharp branches can damage your fence. Clean the fence using a mild detergent and a soft brush.

Repairs- Between the hinges, latches, and screws, these hardware pieces may become loose or rusted. Take look at your fencing and get the proper repairs to ensure your fencing is functioning safely.

Coatings- Some fences require extra maintenance including wooden fences which benefit from a protective coating or sealant to shield it from the elements and prevent it from rotting and fading.

Trimming- Vegetation that is rubbing or weighing down on sections of your fence can damage your fence. During the Spring season, take the time to trim back any weeds or overgrown areas around your fence.

Routine Maintenance- Have your fence professionally inspected at least once a year to identify any underlying issues before they turn into bigger issues.
